hOn app was once again a key feature at the Haier Europe stand. But this time, we wanted to go a step further: not just show what connected appliances can do, but create a real home where we can see how technology can become part of our daily routines, adapting to different people, spaces, and needs.
Welcome to our Smart Home: three rooms, three colors, and three different ways to experience your home.
Three rooms, three colors, three values
hOn Smart Home consisted of three rooms: the kitchen, the laundry room and the veranda .
Each space was characterized by a color, chosen to represent one of the values at the heart of the hOn experience .
- Orange represented effectiveness: the concrete support that hOn can offer in managing the home, helping to organize daily activities, keep everything under control and manage one’s routines.
- Blue represented care. Care for ourselves, for our clothes, for our food, for our dishes, and, more generally, for the spaces we inhabit every day.
- Green, represented awareness. The ability to use technology to make more informed choices, better utilize resources, and reduce our impact.
Three colors, three values, but also three different needs. And this is where our characters come into play.
Sophie, Marty, and Jack: three different ways of experiencing home
To make the experience even closer to real life, we created three different personas, each with their own habits, priorities and relationship with technology, to explain how connectivity can take different forms depending on who uses it .
Sophie is the most pragmatic. She loves being organized and knows how to use hOn to manage her home, from daily tasks to small chores. With the app’s support, she can keep everything under control, without feeling overwhelmed by her routines.
Marty is the tech- savvy one of the group. Passionate about technology and innovation, he relies on the hOn app to manage household chores . For him, connected appliances and smart solutions become natural tools for the way he experiences his home.
Jack , on the other hand, is the most attentive and aware. For him, technology isn’t simply about having more features, but about finding solutions that can help him make more responsible choices, taking care of his well-being and using resources more efficiently.
Three people, three perspectives, and three different ways of experiencing the connected home.
From digital connectivity to an increasingly present support
But the Smart Home at IFA didn’t stop with the hOn app . This year, we also wanted to look at what might come next.
Thanks to some of the new assistants, we showed how the concept of the Smart Home is evolving: from connected appliances and digital services to technologies capable of becoming an increasingly tangible presence within the home.
Three robots have entered our Smart Home, each designed to support people in a different way:
- The Laundry Assistant: a robot designed to help us do laundry, moving clothes from the washing machine to the dryer and even hanging them directly on hangers.
- A robot designed to help keep the environment tidy, for example by picking up pet toys or dealing with small stains.
- The companion robot : designed to offer support even when we are not at home, it can monitor what is happening in the environment and send real-time notifications in case of unusual situations, also offering support in case of emergency.

A journey to the house of the future
With this experience, we wanted to describe a home that goes beyond the simple concept of connected appliances.
The Smart Home isn’t just a collection of devices connected to an app . It’s an environment where technology is increasingly integrated into everyday life , offering support in moments when it can really make a difference.
Our journey begins with the connectivity of the hOn app and looks towards a future where technology can become increasingly present, intuitive, and capable of adapting to our way of life.
And IFA was the perfect opportunity to bring this journey to life.
